This is a Substance Designer procedural material of jungle roots (with adjustable quantity of roots, leaves, and grass patches), that I made as an exercise. I wanted to improve at making procedural materials so I took it upon myself to try to recreate Daniel Thiger's jungle roots material by following his rough breakdown of its creation during a GTC talk. This pushed me to learn more about how nodes interact with each other, as well as improving my workflow and knowledge of more nodes. Besides that, a lot of improvization and problem solving was involved when certain aspects did not turn out as I was imagining them/trying to recreate them, having to find other solutions to reach the same result.
This was a very fun exercise that taught me a lot about creating procedural materials and about using Substance 3D Designer.
