Alien Planet Backgrounds

I worked on this project during my time studying animation at the Atlantic Technological University in Ireland. We were tasked with creating 2 animation backgrounds, an exterior establishing shot with several parallax layers, and an interior staging shot with a clear "light area". We were given multiple themes/settings to pick from, my choice being an alien planet with human futuristic technology within.

I ended up coming with the idea of a planet orbiting a star only producing a strong orange light, once inhabited by a more advanced civilisation that has now gone extinct after an experiment/cataclysmic event, a setting akin to the discovery of LV426 in the first Alien film.
