This project is the result of an university assignment and my first interaction with procedural art. We were tasked with the recreation of one out of three game environments using procedural methods and assets. I chose to tackle Assassin's Creed Unity's late 1700s Paris.
This task opened my eyes to the world of procedural art as well as material creation using Substance 3D Designer as a possible career path. I tried focusing on highly customizable and versatile materials, as well as faithful meshes based on the analysis I did in game of the assets. I then quickly assembled buildings and a small town scene in Unity to see how everything would meld together.
It is important to note that while the materials were created using tessallation in Designer, the meshes were not designed to support it, therefore they look flatter in the Unity scene than in the material renders.
